The European Union provided support of 31.5 million euros to be used for areas affected by the conflict in Ethiopia

 

Addis Ababa, The European Union has provided support of 31.5 million Euros to enable the restart of interrupted health services in conflict-affected areas in Ethiopia.

 

The Alliance made its grant to the United Nations Children's Fund (UNICEF) to enable it to carry out its launch and capacity building work.

 

It is said that the support is aimed at improving the lives of children and women and helping them to recover from the damage caused by the conflict and to start health services.

 

Due to the war in northern Ethiopia, more than 3 thousand health facilities are out of service.

 

Because of this, it is said that more than 700,000 children have not even received regular vaccinations.

 

It is said that the current support will benefit nearly 2 million women and children in Afar, Amara, Oromia, Tigray and Southern regions.

 

It was also pointed out that the support provided will enable to start and strengthen education services.

 

In the education sector, the work to rehabilitate schools and return children to their studies will be done through Plan International.

 

Accordingly, a signing ceremony was held to give the support to Plan International.
