Digitization Service Commences at Abrahot Library

Addis Ababa, The Mayor of Addis Ababa, Adanech Abebe, inaugurated the digitization service at Abrahot Library, marking a significant step towards modernizing the facility.

In a social media post, Mayor Adanech Abebe expressed her excitement, stating, "Today, we have launched the digitization service at Abrahot Library."

She highlighted that the library already caters to an average of over 15,000 readers daily. With the introduction of this new service and the digitization of 80,000 books, the reach of the library is expected to expand significantly.

Acknowledging the importance of providing conducive spaces for reading, the mayor noted, "While the younger generation often lacks access to suitable reading environments, we have observed their eagerness to thrive through reading when given the right conditions."

In line with this, she affirmed the city's commitment to constructing additional libraries across different districts and ensuring the completion of ongoing library projects with necessary resources. The mayor emphasized the city's aim to cultivate a generation of avid readers and informed individuals.
