A committee has been set up to investigate the reasons for the withdrawal of aid by organizations in Ethiopia - Govt.

Addis Ababa, It has been announced that a technical committee has been set up to investigate the issues that USAID and the World Food Program have temporarily suspended their support for Ethiopia.

In a statement issued today by the Minister of State for Government Communication Services, Serofit Kasa, he reminded that the World Food Program and the American Aid Organization have temporarily stopped their support to Ethiopia.

Following this, the government has announced that it is ready to work with these bodies to make improvements to those who are said to have operational gaps and to investigate and take legal action if illegal activities have been carried out.

With this, under the leadership of the Disaster Risk Management Commission, a technical committee has been set up and includes representatives of stakeholder institutions that are directly related to the issue, as well as members from humanitarian aid partners.

He said that the committee is proposing various solutions and is having productive discussions by identifying the sectors that need improvement.

He pointed out that the established joint technical committee is mainly working on emergency humanitarian assistance, safety net program and humanitarian assistance and supply and distribution of refugees.

They said that good results have been achieved so far.

The minister of state mentioned that the government has been working with various bodies to provide appropriate support to citizens who need urgent humanitarian assistance, and said that the rule of law must be respected in this process.

In order to achieve this, he said that he has been prosecuting those involved in illegal activities and conducting extensive monitoring, and he said that he will continue to do so and the committee will continue to do so.
