Meta Company to Lay 50,000-Km-Long Undersea Cable
*************************
The Waterworth Project, a massive technology project spanning the United States, India, South Africa, and Brazil, is expected to be the world’s longest undersea cable when completed.
The new cable project will directly connect five continents and will use artificial intelligence technologies.
The company said the project will accelerate economic cooperation and technological development; the 24-fiber pair system it will use will be the longest undersea system, which will increase capacity.
Various undersea cables are said to be ideal for transmitting digital services and data.
It is also noted that 95 percent of the world’s internet traffic is transmitted through undersea cables.
According to a report by Telegeography, there are over 600 submarine cables worldwide, with the largest currently being operated by Meta and mobile network providers.
The cable, known as the African Cable, is said to be 45,000 km long and will connect three continents.
While the construction of submarine cables has its own risks due to political conflicts, Meta has announced that it will extend the project to a depth of 7,000 meters and will use advanced installation methods.
