Minister of Transport and Logistics Alemu Sime (PhD) said that efforts are being made to solve performance and organizational problems so that the logistics sector can support the national economy.
The ministry organized a two-day training forum in Adama city for logistics management members and experts from all regions and the two city administrations.
In conclusion, the minister said that the logistics sector has not been as effective as it should be due to lack of infrastructure, the proliferation of illegal checkpoints, the low number of trucks and other problems.
He also said that efforts are being made to solve performance and organizational problems so that the logistics sector can support the national economy.
He indicated that various supports are being provided to solve problems seen in the regions, and explained that the training is part of this activity.
EZA reported that all stakeholders are expected to implement the reforms made by the government in a proper manner.
State Minister for Logistics and Infrastructure Ato Denge Boru said that many works are being done to improve the logistics performance of the country.
The State Minister stated that the works that have been started to make the sector more effective will be strengthened; stakeholders at all levels must also make unreserved participation and efforts.
