Awash Bank Holds Iftar Program for Its Muslim Customers

Awash Bank held an Iftar program for its Muslim customers. 

 

The Iftar ceremony held in Addis Ababa was attended by Sheikh Haji Ibrahim Tufa, President of the Supreme Council for Islamic Affairs of Ethiopia, and other invited guests. 

 

Sheikh Haji Ibrahim Tufa stated that Awash Bank is playing an irreplaceable role in providing foreign currency to Muslim followers, especially for the Hajj pilgrimage. 

 

Awash Bank CEO Ato Tsehai Shiferaw, for his part, indicated that the bank is providing ‘Ikhlas’ interest-free banking services based on Sharia law. 

 

During the Iftar ceremony, the bank donated a total of more than 20 million birr to the Grand Anwar Mosque water well, the Aweliya School, and kidney dialysis for patients at Ethio Tabib General Hospital and Amen General Hospital.
