An agreement was signed with companies engaged in the production of a free trade zone in Dredawa

 

 A memorandum of understanding was signed with the manufacturing companies that are ready to establish the first free trade zone in Dredawa in Ethiopia.

 

Eight manufacturing companies and four financial institutions have agreed to enter and work in the free trade zone.

 

At the ceremony, Aklilu Tadese, Chief Executive Officer of the Industrial Parks Development Corporation, indicated that the Dredawa Free Trade Zone will be of great importance in stimulating the macro economy and benefiting the investors as it is convenient for facilitating business and logistics services.

 

On his part, the Mayor of Dredawa Administration, Kedir Juhar, stated that the Free Trade Zone of Dredawa is located close to the port of Djibouti.

 

It is stated that when the manufacturing facilities of Dredawa Free Trade Zone are fully operational, it will create job opportunities for more than three thousand citizens.

 

They have signed with the Industrial Parks Development Corporation to build heavy and electric vehicle assembly factories, information communication and electronic equipment factories in the free trade zone.

 

At the same time, it was stated that the manufacturing companies will invest more than 6 billion birr to start their production in the free trade zone.

 

Dredawa Free Trade Zone is the first free trade zone in Ethiopia established on 150 hectares of land.
