Tire Pressure Monitoring System
Modern cars have an air pressure sensor installed on the tire, and a warning signal lights up on the dashboard when it has a malfunction or lacks or increases air pressure due to various reasons.
When does the tire indicator light come on?
1 When tire air is too low or too high. A warning light will illuminate on the dashboard when tire air is low or over-inflated for various reasons.
If the light does not go out when we start the car, it means that there is a problem with insufficient or excessive air.
2 When the sensor is damaged. The tire pressure sensor is powered by a built-in battery, and for various reasons, when the built-in battery is weak or completely dead, a tire warning light will illuminate on the dashboard.
If the tire indicator light stays on after starting the car, it means the sensor is faulty.
After a tire is inflated or a sensor is changed, it must be programmed or reset. On some Honda CRVs, the lights can be turned off by pressing the light switch located under the steering wheel.
Also, the sensor battery installed in the tire lasts for five to ten years, then it needs to be replaced!!
Note: Tire manufacturers are advised to take care not to break these sensors when changing tires.
