The statement given by Somalia is wrong - Ministry of Foreign Affairs

 #Ethiopia The Ministry of Foreign Affairs announced that the statement given by Somalia was also not accepted by the leaders of other participating countries of the African Union.

The spokesperson of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Ambassador Meles Alem (Dr.) explained the issues observed in relation to the President of Somalia in his statement today.

Thus, as a host country, Ethiopia has the responsibility to protect the safety of the leaders of all countries and governments during their stay.

However, Ambassador Meles said that the President of Somalia will not accept the security forces assigned by the government.

He pointed out that this practice is common all over the world and said that what happened on the part of the Somali delegation is the opposite.

He also announced that the Ethiopian government has given the honorable reception to the president of Somalia for the leaders of all countries and governments who came to the African Union meeting.

Moreover, the security forces of Somalia's envoy armed with weapons tried to enter the African Union and were prevented by the security forces of the union.

In his statement, he said, "This concerns the security forces of the alliance and has nothing to do with the Ethiopian government."

He stressed that the Ethiopian government has no responsibility to prevent them from entering the union compound apart from protecting their safety.
