Death toll rises in bomb attack at Gondar University Health Sciences Campus

Gonder, May 23, 2018— Information received indicates that two students lost their lives and more than 20 others were injured in a bomb attack at Gondar University Health Sciences Campus yesterday, May 22, 2018.

The incident occurred at around 2:00 pm yesterday, when students were watching a PSG and Arsenal football match at the DSTV entertainment center on the campus. 

Our sources indicated that two students who were seriously injured due to the bomb thrown at the scene died instantly.

The bodies of the students who were victims of the accident have also been handed over to their families. It has been learned that more than 20 students suffered various injuries as a result of the attack and are currently receiving medical attention in the hospital.

This tragic incident has caused great panic on the campus, and security agencies are expected to conduct the necessary investigation into the matter.

We express our deepest condolences to the students who lost their lives in the accident, and we wish their families and loved ones comfort. We also wish a speedy recovery and full recovery to the injured students.
